Laser in dentistry is an advanced technology, wherein an instrument produces a very narrow, intense beam of light energy, which comes in contact with tissue with the help of small and thin fibre tip.

There are two types of lasers – soft and hard tissue laser. Most commonly used lasers for dental treatment are Diode, Erbium and co2. Laser cause less pain, minimizes bleeding and swelling during soft tissue treatment; causes faster healing and requires no sutures.

Laser is used for treating gum diseases by LAP- Laser Assistead Periodonatal treatment; to remove small tumours;  Root canal sterilization; to uncover partially erupted wisdom teeth etc.
